Kids Yoga ages 5-8

Jarhae Zessin

Jarhae has been practicing yoga since 2012. In 2014 when Jarhae moved to Vail she was searching for a place to feel a sense of community and a good friend invited her to a class at RPY. Jarhae instantly felt at home in the studio. As a classroom teacher Jarhae started to notice how much her students could benefit from yoga. In 2015 Jarhae took her first teacher training from Next Generation Yoga for 2-7 year olds and begin incorporating bits of yoga into her classroom. In 2016 Jarhae became certified from Next Generation Yoga to teach 8-13 year olds. Jarhae has since become certified to teach mindfulness to children through Mindful Schools. These certifications in addition to her background in Psychology provide a holistic approach to bring the Vail Valley’s youngest yogis to their mats in a playful, knowledge based practice. Jarhae is very excited to share her love of yoga and fun with families and children. Jarhae believes it’s not about teaching children how to do yoga it’s about teaching them how to hold on to their natural yogic state.

Hannah Goldberg

Hannah received the gift of Yoga from her mother while in her teens, and ever since then, yoga has been a part of her life. In practice, she experiences the power of yoga to build focus, inner peace, self-confidence, flexibility and strength through breath work, body awareness and creative visualization. Her favorite pose is Pigeon, because it’s reminder to be kind & gentle with yourself, and that surrender can sometimes be the strongest choice. She is excited to share these benefits of yoga with the kiddos at RPY! Hannah was trained by Next Generation Yoga (NGY) whose founder composed a myriad of developmentally and age appropriate yoga poses, breathing exercises, chants, visualizations, meditations and relaxation techniques that offer a child-friendly relationship to the ancient traditions of yoga. Hannah also believes in the connective aspects of yoga and emphasizes kindness, appreciation, patience, presence, stillness, respect in a safe and supportive environment. In class Yoga poses are explored with imagination and silly, playful fun. She utilizes NGY lesson plans that incorporate creativity, positive thinking (affirmations), self acceptance, interpersonal skills, personal and environmental awareness, imaginative play and FUN!

Classes explore Yoga poses, breathing exercises, visual imagery and relaxation techniques while conveying lessons in self-expression, body image, social skills, positive thinking, and environmental awareness.
